For those who don’t know me, want to pry, or want to be the victim of a lot of self-directed wordage on my part, here’s where I talk even more about myself and why I am so cool.
First things first, the name’s Damon. Last name’s Muma, and it’s pronounced “Myoo-mah”. People usually do the whole “mooo-ma” thing, but getting my name right without my guidance is an easy way to impress me. My middle name is Alexander and I don’t see why it’s scary for people to find that out. I like my name(s) quite a lot, and I’d not want to change ‘em. Just one of many things to thank my parents for. But aside from defining your identity, names are fairly useless so let’s move on.
My experience of this earth amounts to twenty one gruelling and wonderful years. At present, I’m living in a little apartment with Ian and Brian (we sold Jaye into slavery after his crouton business went to the dogs). It’s a riot. Normally (that is, a third of the time… for all you math wieners) I live in London, Ontario residing with my dear family in our lovely abode. I’ve a mother, a brother, a father, and a 95 year old grandad with his own webpage, as well as a lovely kitty cat. I’d have to have a damn good reason to be in Hamilton instead of London, and that reason is McMaster University. I am in my third year there, slogging through a combined honours bachelor of arts in Theatre & Film Studies and English.
I could be described as “arty” (I’m seeking a monopoly), “eccentric” and “weird” (whether or not you think that’s bad), shy, outgoing (loquacious, even), “geeky” (before you try and defend me and make me feel better, that’s not an insult to begin with, not to mention the fact that I’ve only assimilated the good aspects of geekdom) expressive, and pink. I love writing, drama, acting, listening to music, and films. I tend to like unique and creative uses of art, and often the mainstream is not for me. I’m probably a little pretentious, but it’s hard to be objective. I could easily be described as liberal, depending on your definition of the word. I think capitalism (and what it’s doing to the world) is overrated. I am less concerned with gaining oodles of cash than some, and perhaps I have my parents to blame/thank for that. I’m apt to enjoy tabletop roleplaying games, more specifically GURPS (even though most people don’t understand the rpg thing ‘interactive storytelling’, as I like to think of it, is right up my alley; right next to the inn). I think I’m quite easygoing, and through some peculiar pattern of events I’ve turned into a an unwavering optimist (warranted or not), it all seems to be good for my stress levels, though.
These are a few of my favourite things:
- The wind
- Chocolate covered coffee beans
- Cool, breezy nights (walks during)
- Inspiration (my version of religion)
- “Weird” as a compliment
- Buckleys cough mixture
- Grated cheese
- Hoegaarden
