CFMU may be expanding their broadcast schedule so that radio-slipstream can appear on an as of yet undetermined weeknight between 2-4am.
Come to think of it, the slipstream sounds more like a late-night phenomenon than any other type.
Don’t get too excited, we won’t know for certain for a week or so. So you might still have to be incensed at the loss of such a paperclip of community radio (after only 4 months I’d hardly call it a staple).
Bah! My rage is barely molified at all by this news. When I first read it I thought you were getting an extra time slot in addition to the one you had last year, but after reading your below post I soon learned of my mistake!
Though I gues you probably like the latter time then the earlier one, it is still total crap that they are doing this to you. I don’t see on what basis they’d give your spot to someone else – because a) there not about to make a profit from a more commercial show, b) taste in music is totaly subjective c) you made pretty much every broadcast last year, I don’t see why they’d risk giving your spot to someone without a proven track record when they can see how dedicated you are to this show!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
based on how.. err.. uncaring, rude, and uncommitted a lot of the people who have shows are, I feel a little let down.
but i’m hoping this late night thing goes through.. i actually see no reason for it not to. i mean.. if no one would be at the station, why not let me in? technically i could go and do it anyway even if i wasn’t on the schedule because i have the doorcodes and no one else would be there as long as the dude with the last show was cool with it.. heh.
and really hoping for monday nights because a)have night class so it’s already a write-off for doing anything, and b)11:30 the next day this term… 4:30 first class next day next term!
