and if I need a rhythm it’ll be to my heart I listen (if it don’t get me too far wrong)

Roisin Murphy – Ramalama (Bang Bang) from Ruby Blue (2005) /jafunksohouse/

Hearing only one root note
Planted firmly in the ground
Undo my heart, unzip my body and
Lend to my ear a clear and a deafening sound
Everybody smile please
Nobody pay no mind to me
Finger in position on the switch
A little flash photography

Can’t stand straight. Colours on my eyes. Shapes and swirls, and I can’t stand straight. Even if I tried. And if it ever will stop. Ever stops to beating you upside the head, shaking you back and forth. Scruff of the neck of the collar of your shirt. Check yourself at the door and remember to tip the clerk. Toss off your baggage, toss off your clothes, toss off yourself. Tosser. And if you’ve tripped and you’re falling down long down, click those heels together, and whistle a melody your mama sung.
