Flag Day

The Housemartins – Flag Day from London 0 Hull 4 (1986) /alt.pop/
((“Too many Florence Nightingales / Not enough Robin Hoods / Too many halos not enough heroes / Coming up with the goods / So you thought you’d like to change the world / Decided to stage a jumble sale / For the poor for the poor.”
Somewhere through the grey skies and bitter winds swoops a gentle curve of bright but pale and shrinking yellow. It streaks across parched sands the and glitters in the dank night. It hides under black puddles of oil. But it wants to be found, and it will lead on to paradise, if you can hold its delicate body light enough that it does not crumble.))
